Chronic anxiety takes no prisoners. Anyone and everyone can feel the effects of excessive worry and fear.
Early on in my anxiety journey I was convinced that something was seriously wrong with me. How else could I explain all my symptoms that I felt daily? Maybe I was broken. Perhaps I was too weak to change. When my suffering reached its climax I finally decided I had to change or my life would be over.
Anxiety recovery comes down to challenging limiting beliefs. Many of us look at others as having the perfect life. They are more attractive than us, have more friends than we do and seem to excel at everything they pursue. The truth is that with most people we are only seeing a mask of who they really are. Very few people in this world are willing to tell you what is really happening in their life. Under the surface is where anxiety lives and a deep dive exploration is required to rescue your true self from the cold dark waters of doubt and fear.
We cannot recover from anxiety fully by tethering ourselves to individuals who are not living a genuine experience. The recovery must come from moments of deep introspection and acceptance which is why far too many anxiety sufferers turn to substances to help them cope with their continued existence. These external substances (alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines) can only provide surface level comfort. This comfort is only temporary and the consequences involved with these substances usually destroys lives much worse than chronic anxiety can on its own.

Belief is a powerful drug. When we believe that others are better than we are our body puts itself under constant stress. This stress leads to constant engagement of our sympathetic nervous system since everything we encounter is some sort of threat simply because we don’t believe we are strong enough to destroy challenges. As your anxiety journey continues you will start to see that everyone you meet is fighting a secret battle of some kind. Your battle with anxiety will test your beliefs but even if fear makes you doubt yourself, equally empowering thoughts can harden your soul to the brutal realities of life.
The symptoms that come from anxiety start from our mind and can be overcome with our mind as well. Even when I was experiencing my most terrifying moments of depersonalization and intense anxiety I made the choice to go walk around my neighborhood alone. I would not let my sensations dictate the type of person I was meant to be. When I started to tap into a more empowering energy within myself I discovered the fact that we all possess great power internally, but many of us use that power destructively prior to pursuing recovery.
Recovering from anxiety naturally is possible because we all are extremely powerful beings of survival and understanding. We can react instinctually to fear and terror as well as understand our fear academically and scientifically. The more we start to envision solutions to our pain the more our body and mind prepares us to become our real selves.
